WARBIRD
FUEL CELLS

KEEP ‘EM FLYING

Most warbird fuel cells are made of synthetic polymer coated fabrics surrounding a layer of natural rubber. This is typically referred to as “self-sealing” or “bullet proof” construction.

Over time, this heavy multi-layered construction tends to dry out and crack.
Once a self-sealing fuel cell gets to the stage of multiple cracks and de-lamination, its ability to contain fuel is compromised and therefore impossible to repair.

Once fuel gets through the cracks in the inner liner material and seeps into the natural rubber layer, it is almost always impossible to stop the intrusion and reverse the damage. On some occasions, when the inner liner isn’t compromised, these old fuel cells hold up and remain usable.

We require the old fuel cells to be delivered to us for evaluation to determine whether they can be repaired.

If a replacement warbird fuel cell is needed, we can manufacture a new one from your old fuel cell, or from prints or dimensional drawings.

REQUEST A QUOTE

Custom fuel cells are just that: CUSTOM

The more information you give us, the faster we can formulate a quote for you. Each custom fuel cell requires unique and individual attention to customer specifications to determine: design, engineering, tooling, patterns and manufacturing techniques required. In addition to this, multiple factors are considered to formulate the cost of each CUSTOM fuel cell: its shape, over-all size, complexity, cut-outs, notches, angles, compound angles, curves, arcs, fittings (type, number and locations), rings, access, baffle compartments, foam baffling, etc. These are all taken into consideration so we can derive a QUOTE.

WHAT WE NEED to expedite your quote

Due to a significant amount of requests for quotes, and in order for us to efficiently expedite your request, we request the following:

DRAWING

  1. Email pictures of the actual fuel cell and/or cavity.
  2. Include fuel dimensions or drawing with centerlines for all fittings.
  3. Include size and type of fittings with your dimensional submission.

AFTER a conversation via email, we may request the following. Please do not send any of the following until after our initial communication.

  1. Send in an old fuel cell to be remade, OR
  2. Send in a metal container, OR
  3. Send in a mock up or template.

We will reply with a quote within 1-2 days

Attach pictures of the actual fuel cell and/or cavity.

This will allow a quick evaluation concerning your inquiry.
